Frequently asked questions

1. How much time is sufficient to score 700+ on GMAT?

This is dependent on your starting point. From your starting point you can improve by 180 points in 3 months if you put 2 hours every day. So if you start at 500, it would take you 3 months to reach to a 700. You can reach even higher in another month or if your starting point is above 500.

2. When should I ideally appear for GMAT?

You should write your GMAT 2 months before deadlines of the colleges in any specific round. So let’s say you target R2 (which generally happens for most of the colleges in December then you should write GMAT by Oct.

3. Is official guide sufficient to prepare for GMAT?

Not at all. OG although is a very good source to practice. But it has very limited set of questions and also the content in OG is not structure properly for you to practice topic wise or according to your strength or weakness.

4. Will I be able to connect with Coaches at Apti30?

Yes, you can connect with your coaches directly on whatsapp and can schedule a call directly with them. We believe that in this journey you will need lot of support and hence we are always available to discuss any sort of doubt, concern or apprehension you have.

5. How Classes are conducted at Apti30?

Live classes are conducted on alternate days and you will be able to finish everything in roughly 45-50 days and then after doing error analysis and more targeted practice you are ready for your mock phase in which coaches will constantly connect with you to give insights to improve your performance.

6. Is it necessary to solve all hard questions to score high on GMAT?

Absolutely not. What matters the most is your accuracy in easy and medium questions. Even if you commit as many as 60% mistakes in hard problems, you can still end up with a very high GMAT score. This finding is consistent with ESR (Enhanced score reports) of lot of past students.

7. What are the other factors that matter for a top B-school?

Biggest controllable factor for people who intent to join the b-school in next year is GMAT test only.
Rough distribution of weight in getting an admit from top B-school is 20-30% GMAT, 50-55% profile, 20% interview. Now of-course profile has the highest weight, but all the things of your profile are already there (your academics, your grad college and CGPA, work profile, diversity). The only controllable part in the profile is how you present it and how you write your story, SOP, LOR. And these parts are around 15-20% overall selection process.
